Hi all,
Just to follow up CT and give you the latest on our next winter storm. The winter storm watch has been up graded to a winter storm warning for Wednesday and Thursday. The going snow forecast of 3″-6″ still looks good, although looking at the latest info this afternoon we should be closer to the 6″ here in Omaha. The other factor will be the winds increasing late Wednesday into Thursday. So even though our snow accumulations will be about half of the last two storms, near blizzard conditions will be possible once the wind increases.
clipper systems are extremely hard to forecast. I think that 3-6″ is a good forecast and both lincoln and omaha should be in that area. I wouldn’t be suprised if omaha did get over the 6″ amount. It will be fun to watch the radar tomorrow and see where the banding sets up. What a tough winter to forecast so far. Good job Channel 3.
Thanks for keeping us informed, good job. It has to be a lot tougher predicting the weather here in the Plains, especially Nebraska, compared to some other areas of the country.
This is one nasty winter so far. BTW, someone said the Farmers Almanac predicted these last few storms, so you weather guys and gals, don’t get too big of a head!
